Our school's President Song Kehui, Huaihua City Development and Reform Commission Deputy Director Yang Yingli, Hunan Province Xiangwei Co., Ltd. Chairperson Zhou Jinhua, and Peking University Professor Wei Gaoyuan attended the ceremony and jointly inaugurated the laboratory. Our school's Vice President Li Qiang presided over the unveiling ceremony.
The director of the management committee of "Hunan Engineering Laboratory for Preparation Technology of Polyvinyl Alcohol Fiber Materials" is Song Kehui, Zhou Jinhua and Li Qiang are deputy directors, and Liu Yongjie, Qu Jie, Yin Feiqi and Chen Dizhao are members; the director of the laboratory technical committee is Wei Gaoyuan, Yin Dulin and Xu Weijian are deputy directors, and Hu Yangjian, Yin Feiqi, Li Yuanxiang and Chen Dizhao are members.

Song Kehui pointed out that Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd. is the largest production base of polyvinyl alcohol fiber materials in our country, which has gathered more than 40 years of rich innovation, production management and resource advantages. Our school focuses on applied basic and applied research in scientific research, and aims to serve local areas. It is problem-oriented and aims to solve practical problems. It has gathered talent advantages in materials. Song Kehui said that the cooperation between our school and Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd. is a strong alliance, which will definitely create a win-win situation. The establishment of the laboratory and engineering center is a new starting point, standing at a new height, and blowing a new horn to the research of polyvinyl alcohol fiber materials. He hoped that with the strong support of the Huaihua Municipal Development and Reform Commission and the joint efforts of both parties, the laboratory will produce fruitful results and form an impact across the country. He hoped that the laboratory management committee and technical committee will earnestly fulfill their duties and escort the rapid development of the laboratory, and all researchers should make unremitting efforts to lead the innovation of polyvinyl alcohol fiber material preparation technology. The laboratory should highlight its unique advantages and make outstanding contributions in the development of disciplines, professional construction, personnel training, technological innovation and boosting local economic development.
"Hunan Engineering Laboratory for Preparation Technology of Polyvinyl Alcohol Fiber Materials" was approved by the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and was established in cooperation with Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd., relying on Huaihua University. This laboratory is the first engineering laboratory in Hunan Province in Huaihua City and the only laboratory in our country specializing in the preparation of PVA fibers and functional materials. Our school has specially hired Professor Wei Gaoyuan, a famous polymer chemistry expert from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University, as the technical leader. Based on the professional teachers of the School of Chemistry and Materials Engineering of our school, the professional and technical backbone of Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd. formed a research and development team.
The establishment of the laboratory has provided strong technical support for the transformation and development of the PVA industry in our country, and has become an important R & D base for new product innovation and technological progress and an important training base for senior professional and technical personnel.
After the ceremony, the attending leaders and guests visited the "Hunan Engineering Laboratory of Polyvinyl Alcohol Fiber Material Preparation Technology". Chen Aicheng, a tenured professor at Lakehead University in Canada, who attended the opening ceremony of the laboratory, gave an academic report entitled "Application of Nanomaterial Design and Electrochemical Research in Green Chemistry and Biosensors" for our teachers and students.
